Square Enix updated both the FFXIV Gil Prohibited Activities and Account Activity Penalty Policy in Final Fantasy XIV. The changes made to both policies further crack down on real money trading activities in FFXIV. Specifically, the policies now clearly outlines and prohibits the use of the Party Finder to sell any kind of service Final Fantasy XIV Gil within the game. However, players can still ask for help through the Party Finder, and offer in-game currency as a reward.

Additionally, this extends to the use of real money trading through the “Other” tab in FFXIV‘s Party Finder tab. The official website also states that Square Enix will continue to conduct investigations into the use of real money trading, even for unreported instances. If a player has been deemed as violating these new guidelines, Square Enix will issue a penalty.

More changes made to the policy specify other prohibited activities within FFXIV. This includes an elaboration as to what constitutes stalking and “improper following” within the game.

Final Fantasy XIV Producer Naoki Yoshida previously revealed in an interview that Square Enix would be cracking down on any real money transactions made within the game.

Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The newest expansion, Endwalker will release on November 23, 2021. Pre-orders will include early access on November 19, 2021.
